Municipal / Traffic Court

Courts of incorporated municipalities have jurisdiction over local county ordinance violations and may have concurrent jurisdiction over misdemeanors such as DUI, shoplifting cases, disorderly conduct cases, cases involving possession of one ounce or less of marijuana, and all traffic related violations. Many such violations can have an effect on your driver’s license. Violations of county ordinances can be punishable by up to 6 months in jail. Misdemeanors are punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1000.00 fine.
